After a couple days that I don’t write on the blog, today I want to explain how can be easy to prepare the couscous.
Surely, you will think that “couscous” is a tipycal Nord African Dish, and it is, but in Sicily, exactly to “ Trapani ” they have a strong traditional about Couscous.
Difficulty: Easy
Preparation time: 10 min
Cooking time: 50minutes vegetables, 5 minutes couscous.
Cost: medium
Ingredients.
1 onion
3/4 carrots.
a courgette.
6 tomatoes
a can of chickpeas
salt
tomatoes puree
A teaspoon of Turmeric
Chili pepper.
Preparation.
How I show you in the pictures, let’s cut, the onion, carrots,courgette, tomatoes.


Now, Let’s heat up a pan with Oil, and when the oil is hot, let’s put to follow.
1 onion
2 carrots
3 tomatoes
4 courgette.
5 chickpeas
After a 20 minutes, when all vegetables will be almost ready, let’s add chickpeas.


Let’s leave to cook for 15 minutes, and after we can add tomatoes puree and turmeric ( a tablespoon).

When vegetables are ready, we can cook the couscous.
The preparation is really easy, but, be careful, you have to add the same quantity of water and couscous.
For instance, i used a glass how i show you in the picture.
If you want to cook about two glasses of couscous, you will add two glasses of water.
You put a big pot on the fire and when the water boils, turn off and add the couscous. The water has to cover all couscous, close the pot with the lid and we have to wait 5 minutes. Now, we add a little oil and we mix the couscous, after we add the vegetables.
The end result should be this.
